PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE 

2004  Founder and leader of the “Thésis” string quartet.                                                                    

Artistic direction and management. Pedagogical activities.

1988 – 2004  Toulouse National Chamber Orchestra (twelve solo string instrumentalists).

First Violin, concertmaster and soloist. Artistic management, pedagogical activities, orchestra and string quartet leading. Worked with many great artists in different kinds of musical domains. Many records and foreign tours.

1999  Super World Symphony Orchestra in Tokyo .

Member of the first violin section with Berliner Philharmoniker, Gewandhausorchester, NHK Symphony and Tokyo Metropolitan artists.

1988 – 1990  European International Orchestra by the Yehudi Menuhin Foundation in Paris .

First Violin Solo. Artistic and pedagogical  management. Symphonic, chamber and ancient music with great conductors. International culture communication.

1986 – 1988  Assistant to Professor Henryk Palulis at the F. Chopin Music Academy in Warsaw .

Violin, chamber music teaching at superior level. Admitted after national competition.

1985 – 1986  Great Symphony Orchestra of the F. Chopin Music Academy in Warsaw .

Second Violin Solo. Section coordination.

1981 – 1986  String Quartet of the F. Chopin Music Academy in Warsaw .

Throughout his whole professional activity period, Mathieu Urbanek made many records and concerts as soloist and chamber musician. He also has successfully worked as a teacher with pupils of different ages and backgrounds.

 QUALIFICATIONS AND AWARDS

1988  Successful audition to enter the Louis Auriacombe National Chamber Orchestra of Toulouse, in the presence of Augustin Dumay (artistic director in 1989) and all the orchestra  musicians.

1987  Winner at the open competition for the position of Assistant in the violin class of Professor Henryk Palulis at the F. Chopin Music Academy in Warsaw .

1985  Third Prize in the Warsaw F. Chopin Academy Violin Competition .

1980  Second Prize in the Tenth Chamber Music Competition in Wroclaw ( Poland ).

1979  Special Prize in the Ninth Chamber Music Competition in Wroclaw .

1987  Orchestral Studio by Sinfonia Varsovia Orchestra.

First violin section management, great orchestral work with great conductors.

1981 – 1986  Advanced musical studies at the F. Chopin Music Academy in Warsaw .
